All private and public companies incorporated in Malaysia are considered for inclusion in the Malaysia 1000 directory. Companies falling under the following six (6) categories are excluded from the Malaysia 1000 directory:
Financially distressed companies under Section 176, Danaharta, Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee (CDRC) and Practice Notes 17/2005 imposed by the Bursa Malaysia ;
Companies with deficit shareholders’ funds ;
Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) such as Danamodal Nasional Bhd, Pengurusan Danaharta National Bhd, Khazanah Nasional Bhd, Institut Jantung Negara Sdn Bhd, .... etc.
Inactive companies including those that are dormant, have ceased operation and wound up ;
Newly incorporated or operated companies with one financial year only ;
Companies within the same group of companies having the same turnover. Only the prominent company will be selected in order to eliminate the double counting effect.
All financial data are supplied by the Companies Commission of Malaysia or submitted by the companies themselves.
Companies which did not disclose their financial accounts are excluded in the Malaysia 1000.
For companies which have less than or more than one full financial year, will have their Turnover and Profit Before
Tax figures annualised. Consolidated financial figures are used where applicable and appropriate.
